STEVINSON, Calif. (April 12, 2015) -- On Masters Sunday, Nick Moore of Monterey grabbed a victory of his own, winning the Mid-Am division and overall title at the California Medal Play Championship.

Playing a challenging Stevinson Ranch Golf Course on Saturday afternoon, Moore handled windy conditions with a solid 76, before posting the low round of the tournament on Sunday morning, a 1-over 73. That left him in a tie with John Greco, a member of the "Under-25" division who also played steady golf with rounds of 75-74.

The two players headed out to "The Gauntlet" (Stevinson's tough-but-fair three finishing holes) where Greco's tee shot on the par-3 16th caught the narrowly caught the hazard on the right. Moore, a Cypress Point caddie, played safely to the left of the green off the tee. With his opponent in trouble, he chipped to 8 feet, and cozied his par putt close since a bogey would provide him with a victory.

Greco left with not only the Under-25 division title, but the long drive awards on both Saturday and Sunday. And get this, he hit drives of 338 and 311 using a 3-wood.

In the Senior Division, Joe Zanassi of Fairfield posted a steady 78 on Sunday for a two day total of 159, finishing in front of George Kelley of Stevinson by 2 shots.

Dorothy Donnelly of Salinas defended her Net Division title with a 1-under 143.
