At the 2015 PGA Merchandise Show in Florida, Scotty
Cameron held court in a corner of the Titleist booth,
signing autographs and taking pictures for a line of
show attendees. Standing behind a glass case filled
with some of his designs, Cameron really seemed to
enjoy the banter and was in no hurry to finish up.
That was evident when one lucky PGA
professional asked him to sign an original Cameron
tee shirt he brought to the show with him (they are
not sold there). Out came the Sharpie, and after a
few small accent marks were drawn, someone in line
said "draw a putter."
Much to the small group's delight, Cameron
drew not one, but three designs including one he
marked "J.A.T." for "Just a
Thought" -- meaning it wasn't an actual model
but something he came up with on the spot. We all
enjoyed the chance to see the artist at work, doing
what he loves, and giving back to his fans.
