Coming off a rather busy January week in amateur golf, thanks to the warm, summer weather of Australia (and Florida), the coming week, beginning January 19, will boast another round of major tournaments.

The Australian Men's & Women's Amateur Championships will consume the golf world down under as New Zealander Tae Koh will look to defend his title, which he won in 2014 as a 19-year-old.

On the women's side, there will be a new champion crowned in 2015 as Minjee Lee, who won back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014, has turned professional.

The third and final event of the women's "Orange Blossom" circuit will take place at Coral Ridge Country Club in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. with the 83rd playing of the Ione D. Jones/Doherty Women's Amateur. This event will consist of 18 holes of qualifying before the top-32 women advance to a four-day match play tournament.

The South American Amateur Championship will be played on the heels of the inaugural Latin America Amateur, which was won by Chile's Matias Dominguez on Sunday in Argentina. Beginning Jan. 22, a 72-hole stroke play event will take place at Lima Golf Club in Peru's capital city.

AmateurGolf.com will host the Wine Country Cup at StoneTree Golf Club in Novato, Calif. — the third event in 2015 of the AmateurGolf.com Tour. Jonny Baxter, who won the Silicon Valley Amateur last week, will be in the field looking to make it two straight on the AGC Tour.
