Josh Fickes of Clemson takes lead at CCNC Amateur

PINEHURST, N.C. (Dec. 18, 2014) — Clemson University freshman Josh Fickes posted the lowest round of the Country Club of North Carolina Amateur through two rounds, a 68, to take a one-shot lead into the final round.
First-round leader Will Long, a sophomore at Auburn, matched his one-under par round of 71 from Wednesday to sit one shot behind Fickes. Long's teammate, freshman Ben Schlottman, is also tied for second place at 142 after a two-under 70 on Thursday.
Three players are tied for fourth place at 146. Ryan Cole of James Madison, Josh Stockwell of UNC-Greensboro, and Blake Fiest of Virginia Tech sit five back.
The 54-hole tournament concludes Friday in Pinehurst, N.C. at the Country Club of North Carolina.
