Two teams tied at 67 after day one at Chanticleer National Four-Ball
GREENVILLE, S.C. (Oct. 25, 2014) — After day one at the inaugural Chanticleer National Four-Ball, two pairs have posted 67 and lead by a stroke entering Sunday's final round at Greenville Country Club.

Brian Scurlock and Scott Volpitto, as well as Tory Davis and Lawrence Largent are the groups with 67's on the board while 14 other teams are within five shots with 18 holes to play.

Scurlock is a Greenville, S.C. resident while his playing partner Volpitto hails from Dallas. Lawrence and Largent are from Kingsport and Gray, Tenn., respectively.

Another Scurlock, Blair, and his teammate, Will Dennis, are alone in third place at 68.

The Chanticleer National Four-Ball strives to be among the most prestigious amateur championships in the nation. The event provides 50 top amateur teams striving to compete in the USGA Four-Ball with the opportunity to see how they can compete against an elite field.

The goal of the Chanticleer National Four-Ball is to serve as one of the game's most prestigious and competitive Four-Ball events. The event is held annually at the Robert Trent Jones-designed Chanticleer Course at Greenville Country Club and it's the perfect place to provide competitors a challenging layout that lends itself to risk-reward shotmaking. This 36 hole tournament will be played at scratch. The field of fifty teams will be chosen based on strength of resume and date of entry.
