PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (August 1, 2014) —Andrew Novak shot an even par score of 72 for a two day total of 137 to maintain his four shot advantage in the SCGA Amateur Championship at The Reserve Golf Club of Pawleys Island. Tied for second place are four players at three under par 141.

The Wofford college golfer began the day playing in the very last group knowing that his four shot margin was still safe after the morning wave had completed play. The young Mt. Pleasant golfer was steady throughout his round making one bogey on the par four 6th hole and one birdie on the par five 13th. When asked about his day Novak commented, “I may have hit it better and played better today, but I lipped out a lot of putts. It was still a solid round.”

Sitting in second place at 141 are four players that include the University of South Carolina’s Caleb Sturgeon, Coastal Carolina’s Ryan Carpenter, Vanderbilt’s Ben Fogler and Furman University’s Preston Cole who had the low score of the day with a 67.
