BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (July 27, 2014) --At the Bakersfield City Championship, Neil Bautista shot rounds of 67-70 at Bakersfield's Sundale Country Club. Ron Killmer posted the exact opposite, 70-67.

That could mean only one thing -- playoff. And on a day when the temperature hit 103 degrees, it was fortunate that the playoff only required one hole.

Bautista and Killmer headed to Sundale's 18th to settle the score -- a very reachable par-5 for two long hitters. Bautista split the middle with his drive and reached the green with an 8-iron, while Killmer pulled his left and had to punch out and try for an up-and-down birdie. When that didn't happen and Bautista two- putted, the title was his.

Tournament Director Al Sandrini, who used to play golf with the late great Bakersfield-based country performer Buck Owens and his "Buckaroos" reported that the rest of the top five were as follows:

137 Neil Bautista (67-70)
137 Ron Killmer (70-67)
138 Brian Wells
139 Jeremy Choi
139 Hunter Robinson
139 DJ Fernando
