THE WOODLANDS, Texas (July 25, 2014) -- Will Zalatoris and Davis Riley will battle Saturday in the championship match of the U.S. Junior Amateur at Carlton Woods.

The two finalists each won a pair of matches Friday to advance to the finale.

Riley, who earned the No. 3 seed following stroke-play qualifying earlier in th week, knocked off Andy Zhang in the morning quarterfinals before defeating red-hot Sam Horsfield, a commit to the University of Florida.

Riley was a 2-up winner over Zhang, who holds the record for youngest U.S. Open participant when he reached the field in 2012. Against Horsfield, Riley needed three extra holes before securing his berth in the 36-hole championship match Saturday.

Zalatoris, meanwhile, defeated top seed Sean Crocker in 20 holes in the morning quarterfinal before defeating Australia's Curtis Luck in the afternoon semifinal.

Zalatoris is coming in red hot. He won the Texas Amateur last month and took the Trans-Miss Amateur in July. A win in his fifth and final try at the U.S. Junior would be the feather in his cap for a memorable summer.
