Bandon Dunes Collegiate: Missouri holds lead

COLUMBIA, Mo. (March 10, 2014) -- Behind strong performances from Emilio Cuartero, Wilson Sundvold and Ryan Zech, Mizzou Men's Golf is in first place at the Bandon Dunes Championship heading into Tuesday's final round of competition. The Tigers (-3) battled through the wind and cold in Monday's second round to extend their lead from day one.
The tournament is taking place on the Pacific Dunes course at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. The par-71 course is listed as Golfweek's Best Resort Course in the country.
Utah Valley (+10) sits in second place heading into Tuesday's final round, followed by UC Davis (+12) in third. After two rounds, the Tigers are 16 strokes ahead of No. 16 Washington (+13), the highest ranked team in the tournament field.
Cuartero has been the frontrunner for Mizzou throughout the tournament. The senior (-3) is the sole holder of second place at the completion of Monday's round and will be looking to make a push for the individual title Tuesday.
Sundvold made an impressive jump in the standings from round to round. The redshirt sophomore (-1) dropped five strokes off of his first round score and advanced from 27th to fifth place after the second round.
Zech continued his consistent play from Sunday's first round to finish even with par and tied for sixth.
Newcomer Linus Lilliedahl also advanced in the standings from the first round. The freshman (+3) is tied for 18h heading into the final round of play. Euan Walker (+9) ended the round tied for 47th.
