Jeff Knox and Tripp Kuhlke win Charlie Coe Invitational
CASTLE ROCK, Colorado (May 31, 2013) -- The final round of the 2013 Charlie Coe Invitational hosted at Castle Pines Golf Club has been completed and the quality of play was outstanding given the difficult weather conditions experienced throughout the event.

The winds that howled in the second round lessened slightly for the final round, but still made the golf course extremely challenging. Despite the breezes, the quality of the field shined through and some great scores were recorded.

In the Mid-Am division, Jeff Knox and Tripp Kuhlke, both of Augusta, GA, posted a three under 69 to lead wire-to-wire for a ten under 206, claiming their second Charlie Coe Invitational title.

In second place in the Mid-Am division were Brooks Ratzlaff, of Wichita Falls, TX, and Tyler Leon, of Ft. Worth, TX, at 207, followed by Jonathan Marsico of Denver, CO, and Ben Hayes of Scottsdale, AZ, in third at 208 and John Elway and Tom Hart, both of Denver, CO, in fourth at 210.

SENIOR DIVISION

In the Senior division and in identical fashion, Jim Crane and Hunter Nelson, both of Houston, TX, shot a ten under total of 206 to also claim their second Coe title.

In second place in the Senior division were the 2008 & 2010 champions Rick George of Denver, CO, and Paul Schlachter of Bridgeville, PA, at 211, with Ben Hargis of Alexandria, LA, and Douglas Farr of Monroe, LA, in third at 212.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT AND CHARLIE COE

The tournament was a tremendous tribute to Charlie Coe, one of the best amateur players in golf. His accomplishments included two USGA Amateur Championships (1949 and 1958), playing in nineteen consecutive Masters (making the cut fifteen times) and being a seven time member of the Walker Cup (Captain in 1957 and 1959). Charlie would be proud of the play that was on display this week for his tournament.
