ATHENS, Ga. (May 24, 2013) -- Top-ranked USC entered the final round of the 2013 NCAA Championship with a 17-shot lead. The Trojans didn't look back on Friday, closing the tournament with another dominating day en route to winning the NCAA Division I National Championship at University of Georgia Golf Course.

After three days of historic or near-historic performances, the Trojans closed strong to finish with a 21-shot victory. Duke took second place.

The Trojans were led again by No. 1 player Annie Park. She took the individual title and led USC with rounds of 70-67-70-71.

Doris Chen shot the team's low round on Friday, firing a 70. Kyung Kim added a pair of sub-70 rounds to help the Trojans in Rounds 2 and 3 while Sophia Popov chipped in with solid scorecards of 71-70-74-74.

Duke was powered by a terrific effort from Lindy Duncan, who carded rounds of 72-71-71-70.

Purdue took third place, finishing 40 shots behind USC.

ABOUT THE NCAA Division I Women's Championship

30 teams and 6 individuals not on a qualifying team make up the field for the championship of NCAA Division I women's golf.

After 72 holes of stroke play, the individual champion is crowned, and the low 8 teams advance to match play to determine the team champion.
