Carolinas Young Am: Sam Jackson leads by 3
PINEHURST, N.C. (Jan. 3, 2013) -- Sam Jackson, III fired a first-round 4-under 68 and lead by three shots at the 5th annual Carolinas Young Amateur Championship at Pinewild Country Club's Magnolia Course.
Jackson leads a group of five players at 1-under, including Wesley Conover, Carson Lanier, Spencer Lawson, Davis Womble and Michael Cromie.

Entry is open to any male or female
amateur
golfer between the ages of 18 and 25
who
have finished high school who is a legal
resident of
North or South Carolina, is a member in
good
standing of a club which is a member of
the
Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and has a
current
USGA handicap index at a CGA member
club.
The championship format is 36 holes of
stroke
play.
