St. Augustine Amateur: Eric Hallberg races to lead
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Oct. 12, 2012) -- Eric Hallberg, son of Champions Tour Player Gary Hallberg, fired a sizzling 4-under 66 in the first round of the 2012 St. Augustine Amateur at St. John's Golf Club.
Hallberg's low round gives him a three-shot advantage over Jack Comstock, Joshua Lee and Jack Watson, who all fired 1-under 69.
Anthony Alex, Jacob Kline and Mickey Werenski each shot even-par 70 in Round 1 and are looking to make a move when Round 2 commences Saturday morning.

54 hole stroke play event for better
amateurs
and collegiate players. The field will be
limited
to 84 players, with no cut. The tournament
is
open to Amateurs only whose entry has been
accepted by the Tournament Committee
however there is an open qualifier several
weeks prior to the event - contact the
Tournament Committee or visit the website
for
details.
Unless prior arrangements are made with
the
approval of the Committee, competitors
must
walk during the competition.
