Four roll to semifinals at USGA Senior

Jim Knoll will face Paul Simson while Doug Hanzel takes on Curtis Skinner in today's Final Four

WEST CALDWELL, N.J. (Oct. 3, 2012) -- Jim Knoll defeated the defending USGA Senior Champion Louis Lee, 2-up, in Wednesday morning's quarterfinals and advanced to the afternoon's semifinal match. Knoll, of Sunnyvale, Calif., will face Paul Simson in the semifinals. In the other semifinal match, Doug Hanzel will face Curtis Skinner. Hanzel defeated Pat O'Donnell 3-and-1, in the quarterfinals while Skinner survived Steve Golliher 2-and-1. Stay tuned for updates following the completion of the afternoon matches.

The USGA Senior Amateur is open to those with a USGA Handicap Index of 5.4 or lower, who are 55 or older on or before the day the qualifying begins, usually in August. It is one of 15 national championships conducted annually by the USGA.
