Philly Senior Amateur shortened to 18 holes
WILMINGTON, Del. (Sept. 19, 2012) -- The heavy rains on Monday night that continued throughout the day on Tuesday rendered Wilmington Country Club’s South Course unplayable, thus forcing the Golf Association of Philadelphia to cancel Wednesday’s opening round of the 42nd Senior Amateur Championship.
Officials have shortened the Championship to 18 holes. Thursday’s tee times are those originally assigned for Wednesday.
The Association and Wilmington officials held numerous conversations in regards to alternative scheduling, however, it was determined the best course of action was to move forward with a one-day, 18-hole Championship.
