MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Aug. 16, 2012) -- With showcase accuracy and solid shot consistency, Project X recorded a commanding victory at the 2012 PGA Championship in Kiawah Island, S.C. The win marked the 33rd win this year on the PGA Tour for shafts by True Temper and vaulted the champion to the No. 1 ranking in the world.

With Project X in the bag, the 23-year-old PGA Championship winner played bogey-free golf over the final 23 holes and became the youngest player since 1980 to win two majors. He shot 13-under par for the tournament to secure a commanding eight-stroke lead over the runners-up.The world's largest shaft manufacturer demonstrated dominance beyond just the victory at the PGA Championship. Shafts designed and manufactured by True Temper claimed the Top Three money positions and controlled the field with 110 sets in play.

"The overwhelming demonstration of shot consistency and accuracy during the PGA Championship was an inspiration to golfers of all skill levels," says Chad Hall, director of product marketing and global tour operations for True Temper Sports. "Project X and Dynamic Gold shafts continue to set the industry standard for superior performance and reliability and this season was no exception with wins at The Master, US Open, The Open Championship and now the PGA Championship."
