Okla. State Am: Carney wins second
TULSA, Okla. (July 18, 2012) -- Stephen Carney who defeated Draegen Majors 4-and-2 in the final match to claim the 2012 Oklahoma State Amateur Championship at Southern Hills Country Club.
Carney is a two time champion of this tournament winning in 2010.
Carney went through the match play portion of the event with relative ease after finishing stroke play qualifying. He rolled Tyler Carson 7-and-6 in the semifinals and needed just 13 holes to finish off Tanner Owens in the Round of 16.
