Ramey opens with 67 to lead Magnolia Amateur

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (July 6, 2012) -- Chad Ramey, Mississippi State, opened with a 4-under-par 67 to lead the Magnolia Amateur at Hattiesburg Country Club in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Myles Lewis, Louisiana State, is one stroke back with a first round 68.

Five players are tied at 2-under-par, 69.

The Magnolia Amateur is a limited field event of 120 players made up of 80 players under 40 years old and 40 players over 40 years old. Along with the individual tournament, there is a college team competition that is based on the combined scores of two players on the same team over the 3 rounds.

Drew Kirby and Kevin Brady from Mississippi State lead the team competition after both players carded 2-under-par, 69's.
