WOODBURN, Ore. (July 2, 2012) -- Players continued to shoot low numbers at the second day of the 68th OGA Tournament of Champions held at OGA Golf Course in Woodburn, Ore. as rain-softened conditions opened up plenty of scoring opportunities.
Ryan Pickthorn (above right), club champion at Persimmon Country Club, had back-to-back 65s to win the men's division by eights strokes with a two-day total of fourteen under par.
"Both days I started out slow," Pickthorn said. "Then each day I had a string of birdies - five yesterday, 6 today - and just lit it up on the back."
Hans Reimers (above left) came back strong, going 73-65 to place second in the event.
In the women's division, Brie Stone (above right), who earned entry into the event as the 2011 Mid-Am champion, beat Kate Hildahl (above left) by one stroke after posting an even-par 72 today after yesterday's 75. Stone says she's looking forward to defending her mid-am title Black Butte
"The superintendent's crew had this course in great condition," Director of Tournament Operations Nate Swanner said. "The course played great - the players were very complimentary of the conditions."
The OGA Tournament of Champions event is an invitation-only tournament ran by the OGA for the club champions of each member club and for the champions of all OGA Championships.
