SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (June 19, 2012) -- Nick Watney recorded the third double eagle in U.S. Open history Friday. Using a Titleist AP2 5-iron, Watney sunk his approach shot on the par-5 17th hole from 190 yards out. He also had a Titleist Pro V1x golf ball.

"I can't really remember what I was feeling. It was kind of disbelief and joy, and it was really exciting," said Watney, who finished T21 for the week.

Another notable shot: John Peterson's hole-in-one on the par-3 13th Saturday. Peterson used a Titleist MB 7-iron and Pro V1x ball on the 180-yard hole. It was his first ace in competition.

"I went nuts. I know that," Peterson said. "I tried (to) chest bump my caddie and I missed and I think I hit his head. But it was really, really cool. First one ever."

Peterson finished T4 for the tournament.
