MEMPHIS, Tenn. (May 1, 2012) -- The all-new Project X PXi shaft scored its first PGA TOUR win at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans this weekend. PXi is the evolution of the revolutionary tour-proven Project X shaft family, and a new industry benchmark for performance.

Playing PXi in his irons and hybrid, the champion in New Orleans captured his first PGA Tour victory after two playoff holes against one of the game's most notable veterans. He shot a 19-under par 269, a final total that jumps the champ to No. 9 in the FedExCup standings.

"The new PXi is the culmination of years of research and development and it is the most sophisticated steel shaft design in the history of the game," says Chad Hall, director of product marketing and global tour operations for True Temper Sports. "PXi maintains the same launch trajectory and same spin rates that has made Project X a favorite on the pro tours. Our engineers modified the design to soften the feel in the hands for the shorter irons and stiffen the longer shafts within a set. This is a high-powered combination that produces greater distance and improved feel beyond anything in the game today."

Truth in Numbers:• Zurich Classic champion's bag: PXi 6.5 in his irons & hybrid; DG Spinner in his wedges• 131 sets of shafts by True Temper Sports in play at the Zurich Classic• 15 wins for shafts by True Temper on the 2012 PGA TOUR
