Kentucky Mid-Am: Kelly leads at 5-under
OWENSBORO, Kent. (Aug. 29, 2011) -- The first round of the 2011 KGA Mid-Amateur Championship wrapped up on Monday, August 29 at Owensboro Country Club. Leading the first round is Patrick Kelly of Lexington who fired a 5 under par 67 to take a one stroke lead over Larry Maxwell and Andy Roberts.

The Super Mid-Am Flight, which consists of players 40 an older, is lead by Jackie Dowdy of Hickory and Sammy Levinson of Bowling Green who both shot even par (72).

ABOUT THE Kentucky Mid-Amateur

36-hole stroke play championship with the following divisions: Open (ages 25+), Mid-Senior (40-49), Senior (50-59), and Masters (60+). Open division is gross scoring only, while the other divisions are gross and net.

Entrants in all KGA tournaments shall be required to have an active Handicap Index at a Kentucky Golf Association Member Club at the time of entry and meet the championship’s residency requirements.
