Stanley leads at South Carolina Amateur
BLUFFTON, SC (Aug. 4, 2011) -- Daniel Stanley of Inman finds himself in good position heading into the third round at the 2011 SC Amateur. He followed up his opening round 68 with a one under par 71 today to hold a two shot lead over four other players.
First round leader Evan Phillips shot 78 to finish at even par while the low round of the day went to Austin Reeves who carded a five under par 67.
Nelson Dickson(Spartanburg), McCuen Elmore(Cheraw) and Whit Suber(Blythewood) all find themselves sitting at three under par with Reeves and looking to make some ground on Stanley, the former Newberry College player.
There was never a real threat of a summer thunderstorms this afternoon, but the heat still continues to be an element the players must overcome if they want to win at Colleton River.
