GEORGETOWN, Kent. (July 26, 2011) -- It's been a pretty good year of golf so far for Benton's Patrick Newcomb. Just over a month ago, Patrick topped the field at the 2011 Appalachian Wireless State Amateur Championship and now, with the help of his partner, Josh Rhodes from Paducah, Newcomb has added another title at the 2011 KGA Fred Allen Team Championship.
Their 10 under par 64 on the closing round combined with a 62 from yesterday for a total of 126 (18 under) was good enough to win by two shots over Cory Prewitt and Trey Shirley. Two strokes back of them was a three way tie at 130.
In the Senior Championship, Bill Leavell and Don Wood edged away from Dwaine Gauding and Mark Phillips to win the flight with a four shot cushion; 132 (12 under par).
