MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Just a few weeks after winning the U.S. Open, Project X shafts once again delivered the accuracy, distance and consistency needed to win world championships. This weekend, Project X graphite powered through the wind and rain and helped a popular favorite overcome the odds to win golf's oldest championship - the 140th British Open at Royal St. George's.

The new British Open champ took home the coveted Claret Jug for the first time in his 21-year career playing Project X graphite shafts in his driver, 3-wood, and hybrid. He shot a 5-under-275 and helped Project X win its second straight British Open after posting victory last year at St. Andrews.

"The Open Championships are historic in golf for their tough competition, so we're extremely excited that our Project X graphite shaft claimed victory at the British Open," says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. "Project X has rapidly earned credibility as the premium, high-performance driver shaft on tour and winning back-to-back British Opens is a true crowning achievement."

In addition to the win, there were nearly 50 Project X graphite shafts in play at the weekend's open, and to date Project X graphite shafts have won 13 events on professional tours worldwide this season alone.
