Rogers wins Press Thornton Future Masters

DOTHAN, ALA. (July 2, 2011) -- 18 year old Mason Rogers from Boaz, AL is the 61st Annual Press Thornton Future Masters Champion. Mason battled windy conditions and a tough course set-up not to mention a stiff competition of 224 players to win the coveted blue blazer and trophy.

Brandon Thornberry from Branch, MS won the 13-14 division with a score of 70-68-69--207.

Wilson Furr from Jackson, MS wonthe 11-12 division with scores of 69-72-66--207

Thomas Ponder from Dothan, Ala. won the 10 and under division with score of 72

The Press Thornton Future Masters Golf Tournament is one of the most traditionally rich junior tournaments in the world. An impressive list of golfing greats who have competed in the tournament continues to grow and includes past U.S. Open champions Hubert Green and Jerry Pate, Masters winners Bubba Watson and Larry Mize, PGA champions Bob Tway, Mark Brooks and Shawn Micheel, and British Open winner Ben Curtis.
