Nebraska Match Play: Top seeds fall
GOTHENBURG, Neb. (June 23, 2011) -- The top two seeds were knocked out in second round play at the 2011 Nebraska Match Play Championship Thursday at Wild Horse Golf Club. Mike Coatman of Lincoln was defeated by Omaha's Nick Vondrak 1 up, Andy Sajevic of Fremont by Tad Leistico of Omaha 3 and 2.

Vondrak was topped by Wesley Bernt of Kearney 4 and 3 in third round action while Leistico was defeated by Jeff Holsten of Gothenburg 1 up in 22 holes. Six other golfers will join in quarterfinal action Friday morning, Colin Craft of Omaha, Richard Schneider of Beemer, Tyler Erwin of Norfolk, Kevin Stanek of Bellevue, Jayson Brueggemann of Lincoln, and Dan Jenkins of Lincoln.

Semifinal action takes place Friday afternoon with a 36-hole final on Saturday. Please link to the scoring tab to access scoring for first round matches and the match play bracket.

ABOUT THE Nebraska Match Play

Must be a resident or student of the state of Nebraska. Open to NGA members only. Limited to low 120 indexes. Format will be 36-holes of stroke play to determine a round of 32 match play.
