Sacramento City: Baxter wins in playoff

Jonny Baxter, amateurgolf.com member, takes down the defending champ, Travis Taylor with one extra hole

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 12, 2011) -- At the end of play at the 90th Sacramento City Men's Championship there was a tie between Jonny Baxter of Pleasanton and Travis Taylor of Fremont at 137.

Both players along with D.J. Milligan of Marina, Harrison Murk of Carmichael, Wes Leith of Davis, Nicholas Brown of Rocklin and Peter Ireland of Pebble Beach all shot 69 on Saturday.

Baxter, a longtime amateurgolf.com tour player, and Taylor, the defending champion, followed up with 68's on Sunday to force a playoff at the Alister MacKenzie course at Haggin Oaks. Baxter won on the first hole.
