Przybylski Wins Brooksville Winter Series Title

BROOKSVILLE, FL (March 15, 2011) -- Glenn Przybylski captured the Winter Series event run by the Florida State Golf Association at Southern Hills Plantation Golf Club in Brooksville, March 14-15. He was joined in the winner’s circle by John Hall and Ben Kenny who won the Senior and Super Senior divisions respectively.

Glenn Przybylski, of Illinois, went wire-to-wire in the Regular Division to win by twelve shots. After carding a four-under par 68 in the first round, Przybylski had a seven shot lead heading into the final round. In the final round, Przybylski played a steady round of golf carding a one-over par 73 to win the tournament with a three-under par total 143. Nick Fernandez, of Pembroke Pines, finished alone in second place after posting rounds of 78-75 for a tournament total of 143. Mike Goldschmidt, of Lakeland, finished in third place with a tournament total of 155. Mike Goldschmidt earned enough Winter Series points to secure the Points Championship, and the highly coveted exemption into the 94th Amateur Championship being held at Doral Golf Resort & Spa in June.

John Hall, of Sarasota, grabbed first place honors in the Senior Division. Hall was tied for lead heading into the final round after carding a two-over par 74. In the final round Hall fired an even par 72 to capture the title by five strokes. Kim Schwencke, of Temple Terrace, finished alone in second place with a tournament total of seven-over-par 151. John Latowski, of Port Saint Lucie finished in third place with a tournament total of ten-over par 154.

Ben Kenny, of Alpharetta, captured the Super Senior Division after defeating Robert Foehl, of Estero, in a playoff. Kenny fired a one-under par 71 in the first round, and held a three-shot lead heading into the final round. Kenny followed his first round 71, with a two-over par 74, while Foehl shot an impressive one-under par 71 to tie at Kenny at 145. The playoff lasted only one hole with Kenny earning the title. Edward Craig, of Orlando, grabbed third place honors with rounds of 74-75 for a tournament total of 149.
