The Olympic Club's Lakeside Course is one of the most iconic venues in all of championship golf. Its USGA pedigree runs deep -- when the club hosts the 2030 U.S. Women's Amateur it will become just the fifth in history to host the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Amateur and U.S. Women’s Amateur. On the men's side, the Lake Course (as it is commonly known) hosted three U.S. Amateurs (1958, 1981, 2007) and five U.S. Opens, including Jack Fleck’s stunning three- stroke playoff victory over Ben Hogan in 1955 and Billy Casper’s four-stroke playoff win over Arnold Palmer in 1966. Webb Simpson (2012), Lee Janzen (1998) and Scott Simpson (1987) each also produced come-from-behind U.S. Open victories.

The club got a later start hosting USGA women's competition when it was the stage of the 2021 U.S. Women's Open. Yuka Saso defeated Nasa Hataoka in a three-hole playoff to become the first female to hoist a USGA trophy at The Olympic Club, while 17-year-old Megha Ganne stole the hearts of San Franciscans in claiming low amateur honors. The club was awarded the 2030 U.S. Women's Amateur in August of 2022.
