NEW LONDON, N.C. (April 8, 2014) - PGA Life Member Rick Lewallen added another CPGA Senior Open victory to his belt Tuesday at the Old North State Club in New London, NC. Lewallen, out of Kannapolis, NC, carded a 3-under par 69 to win the rain-shortened 18-hole tournament.

Originally scheduled to be a 36-hole event, rain and thunderstorms caused Monday's round to be canceled, leaving 18 holes to be contested on Tuesday. Lewallen won both the Professional Division and the Overall Championship with his 69. Close behind were PGA Professionals Larry George and Ed Sabo, each with a 2-under par 70.

In the amateur Champions Division, Bob Klug of Pinehurst, NC and Garland Yates of Asheboro, NC tied with even-par 72's. Using a scorecard playoff, Bob Klug took home the Overall Champions Division trophy and winnings, along with the 62 & Up age group title, beating Yates by one stroke on the back nine. Marc Cox of Greensboro, NC won the 50-56 age group in the Champions Division with a 73, and Ed Donlin of Concord, NC won the 57-61 age group with a 73.

In the Super Seniors Division, Mo York of Mount Pleasant, SC took home the Overall Super Senior title and the 66-68 age group title with an even-par 72. Gene Grubb of Greensboro, NC and Greg Powell of Charlotte, NC tied in the 63-65 age group with a 75. There was a thee-way tie for the 69 & Up age group between Larry Boswell of Jamestown, NC, Gary Strickfaden of Southern Pines, NC, and Hal Dugenske of Whispering Pines, NC. All three players shot a 1-over par 73.

Amateur Brodie Baker of Advance, NC and Bill Beal of Matthews, NC tied for the Overall Legends Division, each shooting a 74. Again using a scorecard playoff to determine the champion, Brodie Baker took home the trophy and top prize winnings.
