Monterey Open: McCabe wins by 2
MONTEREY, Calif. (Oct. 17, 2013) -- Michael McCabe buried a downhill, 26-footer for birdie on the final hole to claim the 2013 Monterey Open title at Del Monte Golf Course.
The putt secured a sizzling final-round 63 which gave him a two-shot victory. It was the second straight 63 for the PGA Tour Canada member.
Overnight leader Matt Montez took second place while Mark Hubbard took third place.
J. Mulroy tied for 20th to earn low amateur honors.
ABOUT THE Monterey Open
Professionals and amateurs are entered
into a 3-day, 54-hole, stroke play competition.
The
field
will be cut to the top 40 players and ties
for the
final 18 holes. All professional and
amateur
players are able to enter the open/scratch
flight.
Amateurs must have a valid USGA
Handicap index
of 2.4 or below.
