Fox leads at New York State Amateur
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (July 23, 2013) — Soon-to-be University of Maryland golfer Victor Fox leads the New York State Amateur after day one at Schuyler Meadows Club.
Though play was suspended due to darkness, Fox's opening-round 68 leads those who have finished play by two strokes.
Fox, who will be a Maryland Terrapin golfer in the fall, qualified for the 2013 U.S. Open at Merion and has played in two U.S. Junior Amateurs.
Trevor Sluman of Oak Hill Country Club has the second lowest round to begin the 91st annual event at two-under par 70.

This championship is a three-day 72-hole stroke
play
competition. The field will be cut after 36 holes to
the low 40
players and ties. Entries will be limited to male
amateur golfers
who
enjoy membership privileges at Clubs belonging
to
the New York State Golf Association, or are
NYSGA Associate Members.
