U.S. Amateur 2013 qualifying results
The 113th U.S. Amateur Championship will be held August 12-18 at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. The qualifying process began in early July and ends July 30. All told, there will be 98 qualifying locations with all being 36 holes of stroke play.

BREWSTER, MASS. - CAPE COD NATIONAL GC

Georgia Tech's Richy Werenski and Evan Russell, who recently won the New England Amateur, both shot 70-67 (5-under) to share medalist honors at the Cape Cod National qualifier. It will be Werenski's third appearance in the U.S. Amateur. Chris Houston of Penn State took the final position, finishing seven back of the leaders.

Fresh off a second-place finish at nearby Niagara Falls Country Club in the Porter Cup, Texas A&M star Tyler Dunlap continued his hot play, taking medalist by an impressive six shots. Andrew Lane of Notre Dame took third place in the Seven Oaks Golf Course qualifier on the campus of Colgate University. The Oak Hill member joined fellow New Yorker Gavin Hall in qualifying. Hall, however, was exempt from qualifying on account of medaling at his sectional qualifier to gain entry into June’s U.S. Open.

LSU golfers Stewart Jolly and Landon Lyons took the top two positions at Reunion. Jolly was the medalist thanks to a final-round 67 while Lyons shot 68- 71. Alabama’s Tom Lovelady and Smylie Kaufman, another LSU golfer, were on the outside looking in, finishing one back of Lyons.

The future of college golf was well- represented in the Del Rio Country Club qualifier. Cal red- shirt freshman and Alameda Commuters winner Pace Johnson led all scorers Monday, firing 68- 66=135 to take medalist honors at 8-under. He'll be joined by UNLV signee Shintaro Ban, who shot 4-under during the 36-hole qualifer. Ban, of course, is the brother of Shotaro Ban, another top-ranked amateur and fellow Cal red- shirt. Jimmy Castles of Cupertino, Calif. took the third and final qualifying spot, tying Ban at 4-under. Notable players who failed to qualify include: Patrick Burda, Hunter Rappleye, Tyler Raber and Ben Geyer.
