Tennessee Match Play: Field set
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (June 28, 2013) -- The brackets are set for the 2013 Tennessee Match Play and Senior Match Play Championships hosted by Nashville Golf & Athletic club. Ninety players made it to this year’s championship site and after 36 holes of stroke play qualifying, 16 have advanced into the Amateur Championship bracket while 8 have advanced into the Senior Championship bracket.
Number one seed and round one leader Elliot Wickenden of Knoxville has named himself the man to beat with another stellar performance in round two. Wickenden followed his first round 66 with a 69 today for a nine under par 135 total.
Wickenden will square off against Grant Daugherty of Alcoa Saturday morning with quarterfinal matches conducted in the afternoon.

ABOUT THE Tennessee Match Play
This match play event adopts the format used by the
PGA Tour for the World
Golf Championships Match Play tournament. Under
this format, a field of 64
players will be divided into 16 groups of four players
each. Each group will play
a round-robin format with each competitor playing
three matches within their
group. A player will receive one point for a win, a
half point for a tie, and each
group’s winner will advance to the round of 16.
Applications are open to
amateurs who possess an active USGA/GHIN
Handicap Index of 8.0 or less from
a TGA member club or course.
