NINETY SIX, S.C. (June 23, 2013) -- Parker Mills nailed a 30-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole at The Patriot Golf Course at Grand Harbor to win the Festival of Flowers Invitational Golf Classic by one shot over the weekend.

Mills is the brother of former Clemson Tiger and U.S. Public Links champion Corbin Mills and recently completed his freshman year at Clemson.

Mills won the Festival of Flowers in 2012 and follwed it up with rounds of 69-67 to finish 8-under par over tht weekend to successfully defend.

Mills was one shot better than runners-up Brian Amick and Adam Goins, who won last week's South Carolina Match Play.

ABOUT THE Festival of Flowers Golf Tournament

36 hole stroke play tournament held as a part of the South Carolina Festival of Flowers. Open to any Male Amateur who has reached his 16th birthday and who has a current maximum USGA Handicap Index of 9. Championship, Senior, and (if there are enough players) Super Senior divisions.

The South Carolina Festival of Flowers is an annual celebration that features a variety of music including bluegrass, jazz, beach, chorale and gospel. There are also a variety of sporting events, including golf tournaments, a fishing tournament, a swim meet, a 5K fun run, a 62.5 bike ride through Greenwood County, plus an Olympic distance triathlon.
